Auction result misses estimated price range

Parker Studio, Los Angeles, California, October 13, 2007 - October 29, 2007 by Christopher Williams was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 21,420.00 (€ 18 Admittedly, works by Christopher Williams have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Angola to Vietnam in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 76,375.00 (€ 81,877.14).

Parker Studio, Los Angeles, California, October 13, 2007 - October 29, 2007 von Christopher Williams im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 21.420,00 (€ 18.391,00) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christopher Williams auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Angola to Vietnam im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 76.375,00 (€ 81.877,14).
