Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Brochure for Dacia 1300I, Dacia 1300 . . . Douglas M. Parker Studio, Glendale, California August 5, 2005 by Christopher Williams was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,890.00 (€ 8,052.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Angola to Vietnam in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 76,375.00 (€ 81,877.14).

Parker Studio, Glendale, California August 5, 2005 von Christopher Williams kam im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.890,00 (€ 8.052,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christopher Williams erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Angola to Vietnam im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 76.375,00 (€ 81.877,14).
