In March 2011 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Sea of Blood by Christina Burch. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,406.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Other works by Christina Burch have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2013 the work Snow; Bamboo [Two Works|AID249326] was auctioned for USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,647.19).
