Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Actions: Sploosh Whooosh Blub Blub Blub Blub (No. 2) by Christian Marclay was sold in the Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 157,500.00 (€ 146,771.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christian Marclay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Boneyard, which sold at auction in May 2016 for USD 550,000.00 (€ 493,938.03).
