Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Electric Ladyland by Chris Martin was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,889.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chris Martin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Staring into the Sun, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,192.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Electric Ladyland von Chris Martin kam im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.889,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Chris Martin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Staring into the Sun beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.192,81) versteigert wurde.
