Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Phillips held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction, which included the work Banares by Chris Martin. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,778.00 (€ 1,635.39) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Staring into the Sun in December 2017 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,192.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art: Online Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Banares von Chris Martin zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.778,00 (€ 1.635,39) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Martin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Staring into the Sun im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.192,81).
