The work Bench by Charles Ray was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2011. It achieved a price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 29,733.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Aluminum Girl in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 4,282,500.00 (€ 3,463,684.89).

Die Arbeit Bench von Charles Ray kam im November 2011 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 29.733,15) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Aluminum Girl im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.282.500,00 (€ 3.463.684,89).
