In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work In Girum Imus Nocte Et Consumimur Igni by Cerith Wyn Evans. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,400.00 (€ 43,272.95), 68% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cerith Wyn Evans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Inverse Reverse Perverse, which sold at auction in March 2021 for USD 176,400.00 (€ 150,217.15).

Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit In Girum Imus Nocte Et Consumimur Igni von Cerith Wyn Evans zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 43.272,95) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Cerith Wyn Evans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Inverse Reverse Perverse beobachtet, die im März 2021 für USD 176.400,00 (€ 150.217,15) versteigert wurde.
