In April 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Vulva Studies by Carolee Schneemann. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,240.69), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carolee Schneemann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 168,273.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im April 2019 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vulva Studies von Carolee Schneemann zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.240,69) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carolee Schneemann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 168.273,60).
