Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ice Naked Skating by Carolee Schneemann was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,183.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carolee Schneemann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 185,000.00 (€ 168,273.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ice Naked Skating von Carolee Schneemann kam im September 2013 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.183,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carolee Schneemann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 168.273,60).
