A top price for Carolee Schneemann - as previously expected
The work Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions by Carolee Schneemann was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2015. The price achieved of USD 185,000.00 (€ 168,273.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions is the most expensive artwork by Carolee Schneemann that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions von Carolee Schneemann kam im Mai 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 185.000,00 (€ 168.273,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions das teuerste Kunstwerk von Carolee Schneemann, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
