Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Flowing White by Carl Morris. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,235.32). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Morris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Margin, 1959, which sold at auction in April this year for USD 28,050.00 (€ 25,407.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowing White von Carl Morris zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.235,32) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Morris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Margin, 1959 beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für USD 28.050,00 (€ 25.407,61) versteigert wurde.
