Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Winter Shore by Carl Morris for USD 1,187.50 (€ 854.69). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Morris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Margin, 1959 in April this year with an auction result of USD 28,050.00 (€ 25,407.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Winter Shore von Carl Morris für USD 1.187,50 (€ 854,69) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Morris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Margin, 1959 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.050,00 (€ 25.407,61).
