Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Tetrascroll Deluxe (See Sparks Bf 1-26) by Buckminster Fuller was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,491.11). Other works by Buckminster Fuller have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2018 by the work Dymaxion Air - Ocean World Map at USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,348.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Tetrascroll Deluxe (See Sparks Bf 1-26) von Buckminster Fuller im November 2013 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.491,11) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Buckminster Fuller wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April 2018 die Arbeit Dymaxion Air - Ocean World Map mit USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.348,19).
