This artwork by Bryan Hunt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Standing Muse I sold for USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,680.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Bryan Hunt; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Pangaea II sold at auction in May 2001 with the realized price of USD 44,650.00 (€ 52,808.99).
