Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hoodoo #1 by Bryan Hunt was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,794.00 (€ 2,530.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bryan Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pangaea II in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 44,650.00 (€ 52,808.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hoodoo #1 von Bryan Hunt im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.794,00 (€ 2.530,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bryan Hunt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pangaea II im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.650,00 (€ 52.808,99).
