Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Man Of Sorrows by Bill Viola for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 44,531.90). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Viola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eternal Return in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 377,600.00 (€ 564,168.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Man Of Sorrows von Bill Viola für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 44.531,90) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Viola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eternal Return im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 377.600,00 (€ 564.168,04).
