Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ablutions by Bill Viola was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 82,200.00 (€ 93,518.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bill Viola have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eternal Return in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 377,600.00 (€ 564,168.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ablutions von Bill Viola wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 82.200,00 (€ 93.518,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bill Viola auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Eternal Return im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 377.600,00 (€ 564.168,04).
