Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dialogues by Bill Viola was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 33,020.00 (€ 30,993.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Viola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eternal Return in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 377,600.00 (€ 564,168.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dialogues von Bill Viola wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 33.020,00 (€ 30.993,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Viola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eternal Return im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 377.600,00 (€ 564.168,04).
