The work Ocean Without a Shore by Bill Viola was auctioned at Sothebys in Milan in July 2021. It achieved a price of EUR 1,512.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Viola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eternal Return in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 377,600.00 (€ 564,168.04).

Die Arbeit Ocean Without a Shore von Bill Viola kam im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in Mailand zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 1.512,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Viola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eternal Return im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 377.600,00 (€ 564.168,04).
