Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Bill Viola could be acquired at Bonhams in September this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California Part II Online auction, the work Untitled, 2012 changed hands for USD 960.00 (€ 907.03) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Bill Viola achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eternal Return in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 377,600.00 (€ 564,168.04).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Bill Viola konnte im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California Part II Online wechselte die Arbeit Untitled, 2012 für USD 960,00 (€ 907,03) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Bill Viola erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eternal Return im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 377.600,00 (€ 564.168,04).
