In May 2008 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Part II, which included the work Sfumatura Mentale Grigia (Grey Mental Shading) by Bettina Werner. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,875.00 (€ 7,631.75), 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bettina Werner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Salt More Precious Than Gold, which sold at auction in March 2015 for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,784.01).

Im Mai 2008 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sfumatura Mentale Grigia (Grey Mental Shading) von Bettina Werner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 7.631,75) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Bettina Werner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Salt More Precious Than Gold beobachtet, die im März 2015 für USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.784,01) versteigert wurde.
