Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Sin Titulo, from Contemporary Art from Cuba: Irony and Survival on the Utopian Island (A. & V. 98.11) by Belkis Ayón. The price achieved of USD 15,240.00 (€ 13,804.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Belkis Ayón achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Desobediencia in September last year with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 218,951.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sin Titulo, from Contemporary Art from Cuba: Irony and Survival on the Utopian Island (A. & V. 98.11) von Belkis Ayón zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 15.240,00 (€ 13.804,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Belkis Ayón erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Desobediencia im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 218.951,24).
