Description
BELKIS AYÓN (1967-1999) Mi alma y yo te queremos signed, dated, titled and numbered 'Belkis Ayón Manso/1994, Mi alma y yo te queremos, III/III' (lower edge) collagraph on paper 35 x 27 7 ⁄ 8 in. (88.9 x 70.8 cm.) Executed in 1994. Edition three of three. There was also an edition of six from 1993.
Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art Online, which included the work Mi alma y yo te queremos by Belkis Ayón. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,884.18) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Belkis Ayón achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Desobediencia in September last year with an auction result of USD 214,200.00 (€ 218,951.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mi alma y yo te queremos von Belkis Ayón zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.884,18) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Belkis Ayón erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Desobediencia im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 218.951,24).
