Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Garden Abstraction by Beauford Delaney was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November this year. It achieved a price of USD 69,300.00 (€ 63,531.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beauford Delaney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work James Baldwin in October last year with an auction result of GBP 1,026,000.00 (€ 1,195,278.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Garden Abstraction von Beauford Delaney wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 63.531,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beauford Delaney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit James Baldwin im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.026.000,00 (€ 1.195.278,64).
