Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ferocious Beasts (Female and Male) by Angelo Filomeno was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,617.66). Admittedly, works by Angelo Filomeno have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venom in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 30,500.00 (€ 39,892.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ferocious Beasts (Female and Male) von Angelo Filomeno im September 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.617,66) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Angelo Filomeno auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Venom im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.500,00 (€ 39.892,80).
