In March 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Other People Think by Alfredo Jaar. The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 35,118.53) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00. Other works by Alfredo Jaar have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2016 the work Refugee (Water) was auctioned for USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,721.50).

Im März 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Other People Think von Alfredo Jaar zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 35.118,53) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 50.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Jaar konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2016 die Arbeit Refugee (Water) für USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.721,50) versteigert.
