A top price for Alfredo Jaar - as previously expected
In November 2016 Phillips in New York held the auction Latin America, which included the work Refugee (Water) by Alfredo Jaar. The result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,721.50) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Refugee (Water) is the most expensive artwork by Alfredo Jaar that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im November 2016 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Latin America durch, in der auch die Arbeit Refugee (Water) von Alfredo Jaar zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.721,50) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Refugee (Water) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Alfredo Jaar, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
