Auction result well in line with expectations
The work I Can't Go On, I'll Go On by Alfredo Jaar was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in October 2018. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,192.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfredo Jaar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Refugee (Water), which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,721.50).

Die Arbeit I Can't Go On, I'll Go On von Alfredo Jaar wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.192,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Jaar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Refugee (Water) beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.721,50) versteigert wurde.
