Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alfredo Jaar could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online: NYC auction, the work Death Corridor, 1994 changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,989.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfredo Jaar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Refugee (Water) in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,721.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfredo Jaar konnte im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online: NYC wechselte die Arbeit Death Corridor, 1994 für USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.989,92) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Jaar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Refugee (Water) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.721,50).
