Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Cross For Beuys by Alfredo Jaar was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,252.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfredo Jaar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Refugee (Water), which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,721.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Cross For Beuys von Alfredo Jaar kam im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.252,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Jaar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Refugee (Water) beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.721,50) versteigert wurde.
