Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alex Israel could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Untitled (Flats) changed hands for USD 189,000.00 (€ 162,273.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alex Israel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sky Backdrop in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,025,000.00 (€ 751,466.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alex Israel konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Flats) für USD 189.000,00 (€ 162.273,55) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alex Israel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sky Backdrop im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.025.000,00 (€ 751.466,28).
