Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Untitled (Flat) by Alex Israel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 76,200.00 (€ 70,088.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alex Israel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sky Backdrop in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,025,000.00 (€ 751,466.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Flat) von Alex Israel zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 76.200,00 (€ 70.088,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alex Israel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sky Backdrop im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.025.000,00 (€ 751.466,28).
