Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alan Shields achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2006. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Odd-Job (Tyler 506) sold for USD 1,560.00 (€ 1,308.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alan Shields achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 3, 4, 5, 6 Preponderus Chool in September last year with an auction result of USD 37,800.00 (€ 38,638.45).
