Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Couple antillais by Agustín Cárdenas was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. It achieved a price of USD 302,400.00 (€ 281,800.39), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 21%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Agustín Cárdenas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le repos, which sold at auction in October 2020 for EUR 620,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Couple antillais von Agustín Cárdenas kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 302.400,00 (€ 281.800,39) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 21%. Für andere Arbeiten von Agustín Cárdenas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le repos beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für EUR 620.000,00 versteigert wurde.
