Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Bricklayer) by Aaron Curry was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,139.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aaron Curry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fractured Union (In Perfect Form) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 67,369.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Bricklayer) von Aaron Curry im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.139,30) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aaron Curry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fractured Union (In Perfect Form) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 67.369,88).
