The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,755.00 (€ 8,803.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zwelethu Mthethwa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled from Sugar Cane Series, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 22,233.00).
