Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Yvonne Canu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May last year. In the Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale auction, the work Sur le Nil sold for USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,180.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yvonne Canu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Crépuscule sur Paris, which sold at auction in February 2008 for USD 118,600.00 (€ 78,093.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yvonne Canu erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Sur le Nil für USD 30.240,00 (€ 28.180,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yvonne Canu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Crépuscule sur Paris beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für USD 118.600,00 (€ 78.093,11) versteigert wurde.
