Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Watermelon by Yozo Hamaguchi was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,597.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Yozo Hamaguchi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roofs of Paris (M. Gallery 42) in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 33,460.00 (€ 35,828.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Watermelon von Yozo Hamaguchi kam im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.597,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yozo Hamaguchi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roofs of Paris (M. Gallery 42) im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.460,00 (€ 35.828,25).
