The work Reiho (Sacred mountain) by Yokoyama Taikan was worth USD 65,725.00 (€ 66,530.01) to a buyer in September 2002. This price was achieved in the auction Japanese and Korean Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Yokoyama Taikan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Miho no Fujisan (Mount Fuji from Miho) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 358,000.00 (€ 411,778.24).
