Auction result well in line with expectations

In June 2001 Christies in London held the auction JAPANESE ART AND DESIGN, which included the work Gyoson Fishing Village by Yokoyama Taikan. The price achieved of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,759.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yokoyama Taikan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Miho no Fujisan (Mount Fuji from Miho) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 358,000.00 (€ 411,778.24).
