The work Pine trees and cranes by Yokoyama Taikan was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2013. The »bidding war« ended at USD 267,750.00 (€ 208,918.54), 34% above the upper estimate. Other works by Yokoyama Taikan have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 358,000.00 (€ 411,778.24) in November 2000 for the work Miho no Fujisan (Mount Fuji from Miho).
