Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Blinded by the Light by Yasumasa Morimura was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2016. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,451.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yasumasa Morimura - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo, which sold at auction in November 2006 for USD 66,000.00 (€ 49,770.00).

Die Arbeit Blinded by the Light von Yasumasa Morimura kam im Mai 2016 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.451,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Yasumasa Morimura mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo beobachtet, die im November 2006 für USD 66.000,00 (€ 49.770,00) versteigert wurde.
