Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo (Will to Live) by Yasumasa Morimura was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,438.87). Admittedly, works by Yasumasa Morimura have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 66,000.00 (€ 49,770.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo (Will to Live) von Yasumasa Morimura im Oktober 2017 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.438,87) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yasumasa Morimura auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 66.000,00 (€ 49.770,00).
