Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self Portrait as Marilyn Monroe by Yasumasa Morimura was auctioned at Bonhams in London in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 832.00 (€ 754.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yasumasa Morimura achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 66,000.00 (€ 49,770.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self Portrait as Marilyn Monroe von Yasumasa Morimura kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 832,00 (€ 754,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yasumasa Morimura erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Inner Dialogue with Frida Kahlo im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 66.000,00 (€ 49.770,00).
