Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Frigidarium of the Baths of Caracalla by William Walcot was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150.00 – 200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 153.00 (€ 174.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Walcot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 33,793.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Frigidarium of the Baths of Caracalla von William Walcot kam im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150,00 – 200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 153,00 (€ 174,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Walcot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.900,00 (€ 33.793,07).
