Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British At The Archaic Temple Of Apollo At Thermos by William Walcot was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in October 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,763.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Walcot - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 26,900.00 (€ 33,793.07).

Die Arbeit British At The Archaic Temple Of Apollo At Thermos von William Walcot wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.763,16) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Walcot mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus beobachtet, die im März 2008 für GBP 26.900,00 (€ 33.793,07) versteigert wurde.
