Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Views of London: Portland Place; Marsham St; The Royal Exchange; Fleet St; Berkeley Square; and Old St Pancras Town Hall by William Walcot was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2011. The price achieved of GBP 562.00 (€ 652.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Walcot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Etruscan Temple Of Jupiter Capitolinus in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 33,793.07).
