The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,491.90) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Other works by William Smith Ronald have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2012 the work Back Thru Spring was auctioned for CAD 100,250.00 (€ 78,341.60).
