Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Two Untitled Compositions by William Smith Ronald. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 7,200.00 (€ 5,572.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Smith Ronald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Back Thru Spring in May 2012 with an auction result of CAD 100,250.00 (€ 78,341.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Untitled Compositions von William Smith Ronald zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 7.200,00 (€ 5.572,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Smith Ronald erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Back Thru Spring im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 100.250,00 (€ 78.341,60).
